Embark in the wake of the lamprey and migratory fish of the Dordogne during a guided tour with or without tasting by the river. In the company of a family of fishermen for three generations, discover ancestral fishing techniques that vary with the tides that rock the Dordogne. This dive into the heart of a local tradition will also be an opportunity to taste a gastronomic dish: lamprey à la Bordelaise, Madeleine de Proust from Bordeaux!
Details of the activity
A fishing tradition combining art of living and gastronomy We work in sustainable fishing and we are committed to transforming our lamprey from local agricultural products. Thus, the wines that allow us to process lamprey in Bordelaise or Loupiac come directly from the vineyards of Sainte-Terre (Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion) and Loupiac. The leeks come out of the land of the market gardener of Lamothe Montravel (5km). This year again, we are supporting our neighbors and winegrower friends with the purchase of a Saint-Emilion barrel to develop the special cuvée: Lamproie à la Bordelaise with Saint-Emilion wine. Limited production and already very popular! Since 2018, our group meetings with visits to the fishery and tastings or discovery meals of our traditional Bordelaise lamprey. This year, we will have the pleasure of offering you the option of tasting Lamprey with white wine from Loupiac or even new culinary adventures around SILURE! Since 2018, the fishery has opened an ephemeral restaurant in summer: the Escales Gourmandes du Pêcheur. Thus, from June 3 to September 26, you can book from WEDNESDAY to SATURDAY, noon or evening and come and taste with friends, family, colleagues or with the members of your association our lamprey à la Bordelaise, our eels in parsley or even let yourself be surprised by our catfish recipes. Always so happy to live collective adventures with all the farmers of Gironde of the Bienvenue à la Ferme network, we will also be able to meet at events organized by the Bienvenue à la Ferme network.
